Rolex Cellini 32mm - Ref. 626

For sale is a rare vintage 1970s Rolex Cellini Ref. 626, crafted in solid 14k yellow gold and distinguished by its factory diamond-set case and beautifully textured integrated gold brick bracelet.

This stunning Cellini has been preserved in its original, unpolished condition and is accompanied by its original vintage Rolex box.

The Case
The solid 14k yellow gold case is one of the defining features of this unusual Cellini. Factory-set brilliant-cut diamonds are individually set around the sides of the case, framed by finely textured gold detailing at the top and bottom. The slim profile and concealed integration with the bracelet give the watch the elegant jewellery-like appearance characteristic of vintage Cellini designs.

The watch remains unpolished, retaining the scratches, oxidation and natural ageing accumulated throughout its life. We have deliberately left the watch untouched rather than refinishing it, preserving its original vintage character and the integrity of its surfaces. The solid caseback is further distinguished by the unusual Rolex coronet crown detail positioned at the top.

The Bracelet
Completing the watch is its integrated 14k yellow gold brick-style bracelet, featuring an intricate multi-row construction and a heavily textured finish that continues seamlessly from the case. The bracelet remains in its original condition, showing natural signs of age and wear consistent with the rest of the watch, and is secured by its matching 14k gold clasp. The bracelet will accommodate a wrist of approximately 16cm maximum.

The Dial
The watch features an elegant grey sunburst dial with applied yellow gold baton hour markers, matching slender hands and an applied Rolex coronet at 12 o’clock, with the Cellini signature elegantly scripted above 6 o’clock. The dial displays visible age-related deterioration and surface changes developed naturally over the decades, giving it an unmistakably vintage character while remaining highly attractive in appearance.

The Movement
Inside is the Rolex Calibre 1600, a 19-jewel manual-winding movement. Its traditional hand-wound construction complements the slim proportions of the Cellini and reflects the understated dress-watch character for which the collection was originally conceived.

Condition & Contents
This is a particularly characterful vintage example that has intentionally not been polished or cosmetically restored. Oxidation, surface marks and other signs of age remain visible throughout the gold case and bracelet, while the grey dial displays age-related surface deterioration. Rather than attempting to remove these characteristics, the watch has been left as found to preserve its originality and authentic vintage appearance.
