For sale is an exceptional Rolex Day-Date Ref. 18389, crafted entirely from solid 18k white gold and featuring an extraordinary factory meteorite diamond dial with Mandarin day and date displays.

The Meteorite Dial
The centrepiece of this remarkable Day-Date is its factory meteorite dial. Cut from genuine meteorite, the dial displays the distinctive crystalline structure formed as the material cooled naturally over an immense period of time. The resulting pattern is completely unique to each slice, meaning no two meteorite dials are ever exactly alike.

Against the cool silver-grey meteorite surface, Rolex has fitted factory-set diamond hour markers, complemented by elegant baguette-cut diamonds at 6 and 9 o’clock.

Mandarin Day & Date
Making this example particularly unusual is its Mandarin day and date configuration. The curved day aperture at 12 o’clock displays the day in Chinese characters, while the date at 3 o’clock is also presented using Chinese numerals beneath the signature Cyclops magnification.

This rare configuration adds another layer of collectability to an already highly distinctive factory specification.

Factory Diamond Case
The 36mm case is crafted from solid 18k white gold and lavishly set by Rolex with factory brilliant-cut diamonds across both the bezel and lugs. The diamond-set lugs flow seamlessly into the bezel, surrounding the meteorite dial with an impressive display of factory-set stones.

Despite its highly jewelled specification, the use of white gold throughout gives the watch a beautifully cohesive and understated appearance compared with its yellow-gold counterparts.

President Bracelet
The watch is paired with its matching solid 18k white gold President bracelet, featuring the iconic semi-circular three-piece links and concealed Crownclasp. As shown in the photographs, the bracelet and case present exceptionally well, complementing the immaculate overall condition of the watch.

Movement
Powering the Ref. 18389 is the Rolex Calibre 3155, an automatic chronometer-certified movement featuring the convenient double quickset function, allowing both the day and date to be adjusted independently through the crown.

Dating to 1995, this is an exceptionally well-preserved example and remains in immaculate condition, with the white gold case, factory diamond setting, meteorite dial and President bracelet all presenting beautifully.
